We are featuring a traditional Dutch delicacy and a typically Delfts blue vase. Stroopwafels are a type of cookie made from thin waffles that are filled with a caramel-like syrup called stroop.
What’s that about them stroopwafels? They are round and slightly larger than a typical cookie, with a distinctive waffle pattern on their surface.
The best way to eat a stroopwafel is to heat is up a bit, the Dutch prefer to lay the stroopwafel on top of a hot beverage, such as coffee or tea. Just for a few minutes, causing the syrup inside to melt and become gooey.
