Here I am, sitting in a car, driving on a Dutch road. And it rains, rains and rains. The raindrops tap against the windshield, faster and heavier with every kilometer. The wipers struggle to keep up, swishing back and forth as we drive down the Dutch highway. The world outside is a blur of wet asphalt, red taillights and endless dark skies.
Trucks send up sprays of water, making it feel like I’m driving through a misty tunnel. Now and then, a break in the clouds lets a bit of light through, making the wet road glisten like silver. The rhythm of the rain and the hum of the tires on the highway create a strange kind of calm. Just us, the road and the weather. A bit of surviving on the road.
A classic Dutch drive; moody, unpredictable, but somehow just fine.
